    Here are some things the Bahamas are known for. The national bird is the Flamingo, and the national fish is the Blue Marlin. The national tree is the Lignum Vitae, and the national flower is the Yellow Elder. Lastly, the flag colors are black, blue, and gold. The colors are really symbolic in the Bahamas. The black triangle stands for the agreement of the people of the Bahamas stepping forward together. Blue stands for the sea. Gold stands for the sand and sun.

There are these marine animals that are microscopic. They’re called Foraminifera. They have a pink of red shell, which is why there are some pink beaches.

 

The name “Bahamas” comes from Spanish word “baja mar”, which is shallow water or sea. The Bahamas are surrounded by shallow water, so that’s why the islands are called the Bahamas.

 

The Bahamian dollar is the same as an American dollar, but it won’t be accepted in the US.


Bahamas has about seven hundred that are spread across five hundred miles of some of the clearest ocean water in the world. Many of these islands are super small and has no one living there. There’s only fifteen main islands, and they all have unique things about it.
